    Sascha Feldmann, Ph.D.

    Sascha is a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Physical Chemistry and Head of the Laboratory of Energy Materials at EPFL. He is also part of the SCR of Winthrop House at Harvard.

    Previously, he was a Research Group Leader and Rowland Fellow at Harvard University’s Rowland Institute. Before starting his lab at Harvard, Sascha studied Chemistry at Heidelberg University (Germany) and completed a PhD in Physics at the University of Cambridge (UK), where he subsequently worked as EPSRC Doctoral Prize Fellow.

    Sascha is also a Forbes 30under30 honoree and has been a first-gen student. Aside from his passion for sustainable energy technologies, Sascha loves cooking, baking, lifting weights, and dogs! You can read more about Sascha in his interview with Angewandte Chemie here.

    Delphine Echenard

    Delphine is the administrative assistant of Sascha and the Feldmann Lab.

    She ensures a smooth-running laboratory and helps the rest of the team with all administrative aspects. We are so grateful to have her!

    Antti Reponen, Ph.D.

    Antti is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Feldmann Lab with a focus on molecular photophysics and chiroptical spectroscopy development.

    He studied Physics at the University of Cambridge (UK) and completed his PhD in Physics at the Cavendish Laboratory with Prof. Neil Greenham.

    Zachary VanOrman, Ph.D.

    Zach is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Feldmann Lab specializing in perovskite photophysics and new approaches to semiconductor nanocrystal synthesis.

    He studied Chemistry at Hillsdale College (MI) and completed his PhD in Chemistry at Florida State University in Tallahassee (FL) with Prof. Lea Nienhaus.

    Tejas Deshpande, M.Sc.

    TJ joins us as a PhD student in Chemistry. Previously he did his undergrad at ETH Zurich and completed his Master’s thesis with David Norris & Willam Tisdale at MIT.

    Marcel Mattes, M.Sc.

    Marcel joins us as a PhD student in Computer Science. He previously completed his Master's thesis with us and is a former research fellow at the Institute of Production Science at Karlsruhe Insitute of Technology (Germany) interested in machine learning, automation and software architecture.

    Kinga joins us for her Master’s thesis in Chemistry from the University of Oxford (UK). Jointly supervised by Prof. Volker Deringer, she explores machine-learning-assisted materials synthesis & computational modelling with us.

    Benjamin joins us for his Master’s thesis in Physics as an Excellence Scholar from ETH Zurich. He is interested in new materials for sustainable energy and quantum technologies.

    Huygen joined us as a final-year PhD student in Chemistry from Eline Hutter’s group at Utrecht University (Netherlands). His research is focused on the synthesis of novel perovskite-like materials and their photophysics.

    Ina Heckelmann, M.Sc. [Alumna]

    Ina joined Sascha’s group for her Master’s thesis on the optoelectronic properties of self-assembled chromophore systems. She currently completes her PhD at ETH Zurich in the group of Jérôme Faist working on quantum cascade lasers.

    Mateo joined us for his Bachelor’s thesis in Physics. He is currently enrolled at the University of Heidelberg (Germany) and is interested in semiconductor nanocrystals and quantum devices.
