Our team firmly believes that science is at its best in a collaborative environment, where lab members help each other out to achieve their full individual and collective potentials.

Science should also be strongly communicative, from everyday encounters between colleagues in the lab to formal meetings all the way to outreach to the public, we value each member’s right to speak up and be heard, as much as we want them to listen to others.

We believe that diversity of thought and background are key for thinking outside of the box, and celebrate this diversity when we strive for academic excellence as much as much as it is fundamentally enriching the social environment that our welcoming team strives to provide at all times. To this end, we particularly welcome members of all gender identities, sexual orientations, physical abilities, international and cultural backgrounds, religions, or skin colors to our team that share our democratic values (and hope to have a more diverse mix in the group soon, so do reach out!).

Sascha and the team fully support members who wish to have children in the group, and seek to promote the compatibility of an academic career with having family and a well rounded life worth living in every moment.
